The Saint Melonians are South Wales No.1 comedy calypso outfit, doing their utmost to get on an all inclusive holiday to The Bahamas. Instead, they keep finding themselves in town squares, street corners and fields playing comedy calypso and entertaining the masses. Combining sharp wit and audience participation with frenetic musicality and three part harmonies, The Saint Melonians are sure to bring a slice of tropical paradise wherever they go, whatever the weather. They’re bound to have you laughing (at them) and dancing (with them) in equal measure.

Christmas time, rum and wine, santa singing calypso rhymes…

Yes, nothing says Christmas quite like three santas singing comedy calypso music. After being promised a year off from the drudgery of making presents for children, Father Christmas was promised a winter in the Bahamas drinking rum. His reindeers had different ideas however and are instead taking him round the country to showcase his particular brand of calypso Christmas music. The Santa Melonians bring sharp wit, audience interaction, Christmas cracker jokes galore and a set of Christmas bangers all done in a calypso style.

We booked The Saint Melonians for our city centre event and they kept the crowds highly entertained with their witty repartee, homemade instruments and selection of calypso and ska standards. Though endlessly thwarted in their attempts to get to the Bahamas they are sure to bring the sunshine to any event

St Melonians is an energetic, cheerful & tuneful diversion that works on the street or on a stage, non-stop action and interaction. Messing around with the words of well-known songs means they have the humour - bolstered by between-song chat and their fairly preposterous foundation tale - but also the warm glow of a familiar tune. Double win.
