Urban Canvas more detailsvideo publicity

Street Art Projects: 4 hours continuous or two 2 hour sessions.

Internationally acclaimed artists and Masters of Visual Pavement Art, Urban Canvas create works that would grace any gallery of Modern Art. Involving up to hundreds of people (adults, families and children) everyone has the opportunity to leave their mark and creatively play on the streets. Given the opportunities, we can all become artists!

Italian Chalking Art
Using a 500 year old chalking technique and introducing poster paints, artist’s pastels and pavement chalks to create massive works of art that knows no boundaries; great for involving lots and lots of people and adding an international slant to your event.

Urban Action Painting for pavement or grass

Inspired by the great works of Jackson Pollock, we create an outdoor gallery of modern art. Remote-controlled chaos and self-expression on a massive scale. There are two versions of this workshop, one for pavement and one for grass-based events.

Jewellery making from Food
Building on our ever-popular food sculpture workshop, Urban Canvas show how you can make wonderful jewellery and personal adornments from simple foodstuff!

Oriental Water Lanterns

Help create an armada of floating lanterns that can be used on lakes, canals or any self contained water feature. Hundreds of them can be made in a single workshop. Magically lit and launched at dusk, they make a perfect prelude or alternative to fireworks in any season. Lanterns can be colour-themed to match your event and are also great combined with biodegradable sky lanterns, which we can organise.

There is also a non- floating version of this workshop where people can make and take the lanterns home.

Designed for schools and community groups, Urban Canvas have developed a number of workshops specifically for use prior to an event or festival. Using recycled materials, (Cardboard, Coat Hangers and Bin Bags!) workshops usually take place over a number of days, more days the better! (minimum 2 days) and can involve up to 30 young people. We can also work with pre-school groups (see Piranhas Photo)

“This is too big for my eyes!” Little Boy, Sunderland Waterfront Festival 2005
