Sprung
The visual beauty and humour of this piece communicates to a wide and varied audience. Inspired by circus, capoeira, dance and theatre clown, “sprung” is a stunningly choreographed piece of street theatre, an extraordinary acrobatic story encapsulated within a musical voyage. It can be performed either as an outdoor theatre; where the elastic backdrop neatly transforms the street, park or square into a stage; or as part of a cabaret, double bill or other indoor events. With lights this show becomes magical, keeping the audience transfixed from the atmospheric beginning through to the energetic acrobatic end!
Duration 25 minutes.
The Bridge
Clinging between past and future, the bridge has been destroyed and rebuilt a thousand times. One woman needs to cross it; another has come to claim it; but a third woman stands in their way - and will defend it, no matter what.
With humour, daring and exceptional physicality ‘The Bridge’ reverberates with our battle to defend our place in the world, whilst trying not to destroy it… again…
The acrobatic company mimbre works with director Joseph Alford from acclaimed theatre company Theatre O on this production; fusing world-class acrobatics with theatre and dance, using a unique physical language to tell stories and create imagery.
The company’s shows and impressive sets transform outdoor spaces into unexpected places for an audience to find a world of humour, energy and visual poetry.
Co-commissioned by the National Theatre, Hat Fair and Laban. Funded by Arts Council England.
Walkabout
With costumes designed by the Strangelings; this promenade performance merges mimbre’s innovative style of movement and acrobatics with big characters and beautiful imagery. Inspired by a series of paintings by Marc Chagall; the costumes evolve and transform throughout the visual voyage. New characters appear along the way, each with their own particular choreography… a floating bride, a blue bird, a reversible goat, a falling angel and a giant horse... A very different walkabout, silly and poetic in equal measures!

“..the three-some kept their Watchers enthralled in a display which appeared endlessly inventive and imaginative, often humorous but always with a dark side.
