In 1970 identical twins were born, to different fathers, in the small European principality of Chlamydia. Since then these magical siblings have been astounding the conjuring world with feats of miracle and mystery. After their exhausting Millennium Spectacular in 2004 they took a break; partly for health reasons but also to fight charges of severe animal cruelty following their ‘Exploding Squirrels of Death’ illusion. Next year they are back with the ‘Astonishing Dreams of Astonishingness’ tour.
This show is a pastiche of Las Vegas style magic shows and is being created in association with the National Theatre of Great Britain. It is a static comedy performance where the tricks start going wrong and the magicians start to panic. Very visual and funny.
Robin Reliant or ‘A Long Day’s Journey into Tights’
The legend lives on! Throughout history scholars and historians have searched for the truth behind the robin legend. Markmark have researched the facts twisted them and ignored them. In this show both Robin and Sheriff come out of retirement for one last battle much to the dismay of the beautiful lady Marian. This five part trilogy can be easily split into individual shows as the plot is the least of our worries. Show originally commissioned by ‘The Robin Hood Festival’ in Sherwood Forest.
The New Maniax Mark 2 NEW FOR 2008
The last Maniax show won the prestigious Street Entertainers of the Year award and was subsequently performed at major festivals throughout Europe. The new version is even better. It’s a fast moving comedy with lots of tricks and gags. A spectacle of chains, padlocks and stunts that takes place on The Maniax’ 8 foot high platform. The Maniax have pulled the largest crowds at the Winchester Hat Fair for years and are guaranteed to get big audiences and big laughs. Explosive stuff.
